I recently spent some time at Midwest Malibu, a premier maintenance facility in Hutchinson, KS and had a good conversation with the owner, Tony. When I get to hang around the top-knotch facilities of the PA-46 community (like Midwest Malibu), I usually go into “receive mode”, trying to learn as much as possible. He had a hangar full of PA-46’s, and I asked Tony to show me some of the “new findings” that he sees on the PA-46 fleet as maintenance is performed on the fleet. He took me to a Malibu and showed me cracks that can develop under the wing. I hope this video helps to explain a problem that PA-46 owner/operators should look for on their airplanes. Thanks Tony!
